Not posted for a couple of days. I sold some of my very first dresses on ebay, I made about £50! Iv spent the money on supplies for making the phone covers and headbands, they will go on ebay next as i need my last collection of dresses for this photoshoot with Ethical Emi. Im making a new collection for the show, I'm thinking of going for a party dresses type theme but to be honest at the moment its just a case of use whatever fabric I can get my hands on!
I think we have all the designers confirmed for the show now! all very awesome designers, the MUAs and stylists are all confirmed too, then model casting on Saturday and just have to sort out the photographers, some more stall holders and some more people for the goody bags! all looking good though! cant wait for the casting!!

How many tweets??
Hey guys!
Bed time blog today. The day has been long and fruitfull!lol. Many an hour spent at the laptop and sewing machine. I have managed to sort out the casting day for our show. Iv got another designer on board, of course the lovely Xander from Ethical Emi!
Did some behind the scenes paper work with Vic, I think we need a day where we get together and sort it all out rather than doing it all by email! (and if a bottle of wine or 2 comes out then the day will be much better, dont tell anyone though!)
Got another dress done today a fuschia and electric blue prom style dress, theres something I dont like about it and i dont know what it is, may ahve to work on it a bit more tomorrow!
I think im going to make 2 skirts tomorrow with the kitsch fabrics, i dont have enough to make a whole dress out of them! I wish i did I love them!
I counted the cash in my penny camper vans, I thought i had about £5 but when i counted it all there was about £47!! hello fabric shops!!
I also have about 30 people watching my dresses on ebay! hopefully will get some bids coming in soon! still 5 days left!
and now I am trying to get as many people to follow me on twitter as poss! im still rubbish on it and dont quite understand it!
night my pretties!

Im a busy little tea lady
Busy day in Tea Room central! iv tried to set up a twitter page but as im computer illiterate I cant seem to put any pics on it as their all to big, so if anyone knows how to resize pics, let me know!
Iv also put some dresses on ebay last night which have 16 people watching them already, lets hope they bid on them too though! iv started the bids at 99p but im hoping there will be a little bidding war for them hehehe!
Also its pattern cutting day...my least favourite part of the dress making process. I'm going to spend the day cutting everything out so I can just wake up tomorrow and sew straight away! I think Im going to do 4 dresses. I have some amazing leopard print satin! so excited! i also have some kitcsh fabrics one with little boys and rockets and one with little kittens! The final fress for today is some gorge electric blue satin!
Also sorting out details for a shoot Iv been kindly asked to be a part of. The shoot is for Ethical Emi <3 which is a stunning jewellery line. Its going to be an Alice in wonderland style shoot and I am so excited to do this!!!
heres a few words from them to describe what they do in better detail......
Emi♥ works closely with fair trade certified manufacturers (BAFTs registered) and factories striving for a greener work force all over the world to bring you our lovely designs. Our suppliers operate a fair trade ethos for their workers and ensure they are treated fairly and paid a fair wage and living wage.
At Emi♥ we love to recycle and we respect the planet and its people. We ensure all our products are from sustainable sources, and the majority of our packaging and the bags we send our items in are recyclable. We don’t use ink when printing on our swing tickets as these produce harmful chemicals. We use a heat transfer which in the long run is more eco friendly.
Our new jewellery range is made by hand using natural stones so you will find slight variations in stone and colour. We just think this helps to make the pieces more unique. Most of our jewellery is NICKEL FREE, so it’s better for your health and for the environment.
We have always been interested in Japanese culture. When we were travelling there we over heard an older lady saying it to her grand-daughter. When we asked her what it meant she told us it was her name. Emi translated into English means "Beautiful" or "Smile". We fell in love with it from there. As cheesy as it sounds, thats what we want the world to do!
And here ae pics of the beautiful pieces they'll be using on the shoot....

I think they're gonna have to keep their eyes on these at the shoot, little Miss Leopard has her eyes on them all! hehe.
Right I have my 50s jukebox hits album on, time to get to work and make some dresses! toodles!

And so it begins.......
Hi everyone!
Im setting up this blog as a page for The Tea Room. For those of you lovelies who dont know what 'The Tea Room' is, heres a little description....I am Steph Leopard, I am the designer for The Tea Room, I make stunning dresses in 1950s style, I use all sorts of fabrics from vintage pieces found at carboot sales, to old curtains, to new fabrics from fabrics around the UK. I make these dresses using vintage patterns from the 1950's. I love everything vin tage but I think the 50s were a time when ladies where ladies, classy, elegant real women!
I show my collections at fashion shows around the UK. My shows last year included Gladrags, Leeds summer fashion show and Pink champaigne fashion show. I am also co organising a charity fashion show in Manchester in Feb. I am currently working on a new collection and Im hoping to set up a site to start selling ASAP! I have just put a couple of my first dresses on ebay, so lets see where it goes from here/ Wish me luck!
